Connecting to AOL using EnterNet NOW as your ISP provider

AOL has several pricing plans, and one that appears to be gaining in popularity is the Bring Your Own Access (BYOA) Plan. With this plan, which is $9.95 a month, the user has unlimited access to thousands of AOL features, including access to the Internet. This plan is ideal for people who already have an Internet connection, or they have access from their school or place of work.

To take advantage of this plan, you need to do two things: First, you need to change your billing plan to BYOA, and then you have to set up your account to connect to AOL using TCP/IP.

You will find the steps you need to follow to do these things, below:


To Change Your Pricing Plan:
Note: You have to sign on with your Master Screen Name to change your price plan.

  1. Go to Keyword: "Billing".
  2. Under Update Your Info, click on Change "Billing Method" or "Price Plan."
  3. Select a new pricing plan, in this incidence you will select: "Bring Your Own Access(BYOA)".


To Set Up Your Account to Connect to AOL Using EnterNet NOW access:

  • Connect to your ISP, Cable Modem Service Provider, or other Internet provider.
  • Start America Online.
  • On the Sign On screen, click on "Setup".
  • On the Setup screen, select Create a location for use with new access phone numbers or an ISP. Click "Next".
  • In the "Add Location window", type a name for the location like (for example, "ENOW").
  • Click on "Add a custom connection" (for example "ENOW"). Click Next.
  • Click "OK"
  • A TCP/IP location will be created automatically.
  • On the AOL Sign On window, select "ENOW" (or whatever you decided to name it) from the Select Location drop-down menu.
  • Click "Sign On", and you will be connected to AOL using your EnterNet NOW, Inc.'s Internet connection.
  • EnterNet NOW, Inc. is not associated with America Online.
  • Please note that you must have an existing account with America Online to access their services. After you establish an account with us for online access, you should contact America Online and notify them that your accessing their service through a local Internet Provider (ISP Access) so they (America Online) will reduce your monthly access charges. EnterNet NOW, Inc. Can not be held responsable for AOL and it's service or billing.
